Flowers rose-pink w 10-12 lobes, & greenish-yellow patch outlined in maroon, per Gentians of the Eastern US (Drake, 2011).

Upper leaves ~ same width as stem, vs. those of S. dodecandra much wider, per Gentians of the Eastern US (Drake, 2011).
